Adult Day Treatment & Residential Services
The Adult Day Treatment provides comprehensive treatment and support services to adults (18 years or older) whose lives have been disrupted by a severe and persistent mental illness, or who have had a psychiatric hospitalization.
The Adult Day Treatment Program helps participants to:
- Improve interpersonal communications
- Develop and improve lifestyle skills such as shopping, cooking, money management, and self-care
- Build vocational skills and awareness
- Participate in social and recreational activities
- Understand and manage symptoms of illness
- Find and learn effective coping skills
- Develop a support system
The Adult Day Treatment program also provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management. The combination of wellness and recovery group activities along with medication management offer the best outcomes for successful symptom management.
West Bergen offers a “Young Adult Day Treatment.” Programming is specifically designed to meet and support the needs of a younger person who may be experiencing the beginning of a serious mental health challenge
*During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Adult Day Treatment is only accepting referrals from those who are being newly admitted to our Residential Program.
The West Bergen Residential Program provides a variety of supervised residential group homes and apartments for individuals (18 years or older) who are recovering from serious mental health issues which required psychiatric hospitalization. Each person referred to and accepted into our Residential Program is placed within a facility that provides the level of supervised care that will best address their individual needs. The types of housing, and levels of supervision provided within each facility, will vary depending upon the needs of those being served. All prospective clients for residential placement are carefully screened for appropriateness prior to admission to any residential facility. Our goal is to provide our residents with a safe environment that provides a life enhancing support structure.
