The Adult Partial Care Program provides comprehensive treatment and support services to adults (18 years or older) whose lives have been disrupted by a severe and persistent mental illness that interferes with the ability to function productively within the community or who have had a psychiatric hospitalization resulting in job loss, poor relationships or isolation. Participation in West Bergen’s Partial Care Program offers participants the opportunity to gain the knowledge, support and treatment necessary to improve their overall quality of life. We strive to assist participants in developing a lifestyle that promotes wellness and recovery. The PC Program helps participants to:

  • Improve interpersonal communications
  • Develop improved budgeting, shopping, cooking and self-care skills.
  • Build vocational skills and awareness
  • Participate in social and recreational activities
  • Understand and manage symptoms of illness
  • Find and learn effective coping skills
  • Develop a support system

The Partial Care Program also provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management. The combination of wellness and recovery group activities along with medication management offers the best outcomes for successful symptom management. The Partial Care Program is available 5 days per week, Mon.-Fri. between the hours of 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. Each person referred to and accepted into our Residential Program is placed within a facility that provides the level of supervised care that will best address their individual needs. The types of housing and level of supervision provided within each facility varies depending upon the needs of those being served. All prospective clients for residential placement are carefully screened for appropriateness prior to admission to any residential facility. Our goal is to provide our residents with the type of support that will most enhance their lives and successfully move them towards the greatest level of independence they can achieve.

* Referrals for admission to West Bergen’s Residential Program comes primarily from in-patient, Psychiatric Hospitals.
