Our dedicated leadership and
guiding principles

Who We Are

West Bergen was founded in 1963 as a Child Guidance Clinic. As the needs of the community grew, so did West Bergen. To better serve the residents of the surrounding area, West Bergen expanded into a full-range community mental health center serving over 3,000 people each year.

We offer a wide variety of quality programs and services tailored to the special needs of children, families, adults and seniors. Our goal is to provide research-based treatment that will help to improve the overall quality of your life and help you feel better.

We at West Bergen understand that quality of care, as measured by customer satisfaction, is the key to success in healthcare service delivery. Annually, we survey our clients and tabulate our results with the Mental Health Corporations of America (MHCA), who process our data comparatively to similar mental health agencies across the United States. West Bergen has earned from its clients the Nation’s highest score in Client Satisfaction in the years 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 as measured by the National Data Center of Mental Health Corporations of America.

West Bergen is committed to meeting the psychological needs of our clients with sensitivity and responsive, innovative services at the highest possible standard. We strive to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve…one life at a time.
